The action began on Monday 13th February and we have currently completed our week 1 and week 2 matches. Here is a round-up of our progress:
Modern Warfare 3: 5vs5 Search & Destroy - Hardcore Basic (Premier Division)
The Modern Warfare team got off to a wobbly start, losing their first game against United Defence Force 8-16 on Outpost. However, the team showed great character and style to comfortably beat United Defence Force in the return match, with a strong 19-5 victory on Fallen. The team then used the confidence gained from the previous result, to pull together and beat Army of Hardcore 14-10 on two maps - Hardhat and Arkaden.
As it stands: The team sit in 1st place in the group with 9 points, 2 points ahead of 2nd placed Viciously Brutal. Viciously Brutal have a game in hand however against The Kool Killers. Every team has dropped points against one another so far, so the fight for the pole positions could go down right to the wire!
Battlefield 3: 4vs4 Squad Rush - Softcore Infantry Only (First Division)
So far, the Battlefield Squad Rush team have claimed 4 comfortable victories in their 4 opening matches. In week 1, the team beat Outlaws.c with a maximum score of 4-0 on Tehran Highway and Gulf of Oman. In the second week, the team beat Finnish Brandenburg 4-1 in both games, the maps played were Sharqi Peninsula and Operation Metro.
As it stands: The team currently sit in 1st place in the group with 12 points out of a maximum 12 and a superior rounds difference. Strike Team Delta have a couple of games in hand however, if they beat Outlaws.c in their two matches this week, then they will share the spoils with eZ gaming.
Battlefield 3: 6vs6 Conquest - Softcore Infantry Only (First Division)
In week 1, the 6vs6 Conquest IO team comfortably dispatched of Definitive Gaming. The first game to be played was on Tehran Highway where the team only lost 19 tickets in the first half, finishing with an impressive 181 tickets remaining. The second half was a little closer and the final result came to 298-0. In the second map - Gulf of Oman - eZ Gaming won the first half comfortably. In the second half, we were on the tougher side and in the closing stages we only had 1 ticket left compared to Definitive Gaming's 28. Hoever, we capped two points and pulled together with insane team work. We didn't let a single team-mate slip to the clutches of death and won the half with that one signle ticket remaining. The final score was 151-0. In the second week we were up against Torrent-iT, unfortunately we did not have as much good fortune as in the previous week, losing both matches in a close encounter. The final scores were 116-143 on Operation Metro and 77-132 on Sharqi Peninsula.
As it stands: The team sit in a mid-table position with 6 points gained from a possible 12.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 5vs5 Search & Destroy - Promod (Premier Division)
In the first week, we took on eXtreme Pro's second team. The first encounter on Strike was a nervy encounter with the team showing plenty of rust, the match finished with the spoils even for both sides, 12-12 the final score. The second map to be played that week was Crossfire. The scoreline on Crossfire ended with a very respectable 18 rounds to 6 after an impressive attacking half. In the second week, we were up against eXtreme Pro again, only this time the opposition was the first team. The first team proved to be much tougher than the second team and both matches finished with a hard-earned 12-12 draw - the maps played were Strike and Citystreets.
As it stands: eZ gaming are in 2nd place, unbeaten with 6 points game from a possible 12. However, all the teams around us have also dropped points against each other and it looks as if this group will be a close encounter.
